| | This specimen which is held at The Natural History Museum in London was classified as the Holotype of Hom rhodesiensis (Woodward, 1921) and then the Holotype of Cyphanthropus rhodesiensis (Pycraft, 1928). It has now been placed under the species name Homo heilderbergensis which lived around 130,000 years ago. Its cranial capacity is close to modern Homo sapiens but its brow ridge is very prominent like that of a Homo erectus.
